Bafang BBS brake sensor for hydraulic brakes

Thisbrake sensorfor hydraulic brakes consists of a switch with magnet and is compatible with the Bafang BBS01, BBS02, BBSHD and CYC X1 compatible (HIGO plug). If the brake is applied, the motor switches off immediately. Also ideal for brief activation when changing gears (as a train interruption) .

Cable length: approx. 50 cm

The sensor is mounted on the brake housing, the magnet on the brake lever. This should move away from the brake housing when actuated (see video below). The normal distance at rest is only a few millimeters, fine adjustment is required. Depending on the brake, a tolerance should also be taken into account – because the levers will give way slightly if the brake pads are worn.

If the magnet is not nearby or is lost, the motor will not work and the sensor must be unplugged from the main wiring harness. The sensor should be attached with hot glue, it can also be secured with cable ties. The price is only valid for one side, the shape of the magnets may vary.

Some brakes have short cable guides and make installation difficult, e.g. Magura or Hayes Stroker. A Magura MT5E (normally open version) has its own sensor and can be shortlisted if you are planning to replace the brakes.
