Lekkie chainring (bling ring) with different teeth for the Bafang BBSHD!
Now also available as a package with 40 teeth. This includes chainring (40T), spacer and motor cover made of aluminum. This cover is available in different colors – simply select above. The spacer must be used – otherwise the chainring will rub against the gearbox. The aluminum cover has a small opening to press in grease. There is also an additional ring on the outside of the 40T chainring to protect the pants. You can find information on fitting the motor cover in our blog post.
These chainrings are compatible with 7-11 speed cassettes. For 12-speed cassettes, the 42T PRO (simply select “42T, 10-12 speed” above) can now be selected. This is compatible with the new Shimano 12-speed chain, as well as KMC and SRAM Eagle . Due to the narrower tooth pattern, Lekkie recommends using this chainring only on 10-12 speed cassettes. Just like the 40T chainring, this 42T PRO chainring also has a chain guide ring. A 2 mm spacer is also included. The offset is 22.2 mm (without spacer).
Milled from a block of aluminum. Saves weight and holds the chain much better in bumpy terrain than the original steel chainring from Bafang. Latest version with the turbine direction to the right, also reinforced with more material.
The original steel chainring of the Bafang BBSHD has 46 teeth, the Lekkie Bling Ring is available with 52, 46, 42, 40, 36 or 28 teeth. The smaller chainrings are great for mountainous regions where the original chainring is too big. The motor is protected by the higher revolutions, efficiency increases and the Lekkie also saves a lot of weight. The large chainrings allow you to pedal for longer at higher speeds. In addition, the narrow wide design means that the chain clings to the chainring much better and is less likely to fall off.
- Material: CNC 7075 aluminium, T6 heat-treated, anodized
- Teeth: 28, 36, 40, 42, 46 or 52 Narrow Wide Design
- Compatibility: Bafang BBSHD. For 7, 8, 9, 10, 11-speed chains (some SRAM cause problems, Shimano fine), for 12-speed cassettes simply select “42T, 10-12 speed” above
- Chainline: approx. 6 mm (28T+36T), 19 mm (40T, incl. spacer) or 21 mm (40T without 2 mm spacer), 18.5 mm (42T+46T), 22.2 mm (HD Pro), 16.5 mm (52T) inwards, measured from the outside of the motor, for a better chainline – see template
- Outer diameter (incl. teeth): approx. 119 mm (28T), 152 mm (36T), 168 mm (40T), 176 mm (42T), 192 mm (46T), 216 mm (52T)
- Weight: approx. 70 g ( 28T), 105 g (36T), 180 g (40T), 190 g (42T), 210 g (46T), 237 g (52T)
The top speed is only slightly reduced with smaller chainrings, as the engine speed is increased accordingly in gas mode. In this blog post, we have dealt with the topic of “possible speed”.
When fitting, please ensure that the wide teeth are positioned on the outer chain links and the narrow teeth on the inner links.
The 28 and 36 is relatively flat because it does not reach over the gearbox. The chain line is further out and on some bikes the lighter gears can no longer be used. See template
The inner hole has a diameter of approx. 41 mm, the bolt circle of the chainring bolts is approx. 52 mm.
If a chainring size is not visible, it is currently not available.
