Domino - the complete throttle twist grip for your e-bike
Original article from Domino (Italy) – made for motorcycles, but can also be used with the e-bike – for that real bike feeling. For the handle to work with the e-bike system, it must be correctly connected to the system. We will show you how this works.
- Cable without plug and approx. 100 cm long
- Microswitch max 2A/24V
- Handlebar Tightening torque 1.5 to 1.7 Nm
This throttle works with a linear potentiometer (IP67). In addition, a microswitch is installed which activates the brake cut-off and/or regenerative feedback when the throttle grip is released. A second handle for the other side is included.
Blue: 5V
White: GND
Black: Sensor (potentiometer)
Green for brake cut-off/current interruption – can be ignored. If used, one of them must be connected to 5V.
1) Connection to Bafang BBS01/02/HD or CYC motors (with BAC controller):
| Domino | Bafang / CYC |
| Blue | Red (5V) |
| white | Black (GND) |
| black | Blue (signal) |
| 2x green | ignore |
-> Wiring:

Between Bafang RED and Domino BLUE a 470 Ohm resistor must be installed – otherwise you will get error 04 with very little handle actuation. It is also recommended to use a 100 Ohm resistor between the BLUE/BLACK and RED/BLUE wires. This causes the throttle grip to react earlier. If you do not want this, you can simply omit the 2nd resistor. The two green wires can be ignored.
-> These values should be set in the THROTTLE tab on the Bafang BBS controller:
- Throttle Mode: Speed
- Start Voltage: 15 (=1.5V)
- End voltage: 45 (=4.5V)
If “Throttle Mode” is set to CURRENT, the throttle grip reacts like a switch – on or off. However, the engine turns slightly faster than when SPEED mode is used. With the SPEED setting, throttle operation can be regulated accordingly using the twist grip.
2) For Adaptto & Domino:
| Brown +5V | 1x green AND blue |
| Black GND | White |
| Blue | Black |
| White E-brake / switch | Green |
With the Cycle Analyst, the “Fault Volt” must be increased to 4.99V. With some controllers, the 5V signal input is too high, so a 470/560 Ohm resistor should be connected in between. There is a connection to the switch when the throttle is turned – this is interrupted when the throttle is released.
