Cable brakes (V-brakes) are no longer very common and hydraulic brakes are increasingly being used. The built-in electromechanical sensors stop the motor assistance immediately when the brake lever is actuated.

The brake sensor (see product image 2) can also be removed with two screws. A pressed sensor means the motor is active, an open sensor stops the motor.

An alternative for hydraulic disc brakes with an integrated sensor as a complete set is the Magura MT5e (lock version).
