Cooling for the hub motor
Improve the performance and thermal management of your hub motor with this product. With an impressive increase in heat dissipation of up to 200%, Hubsink is the ideal solution. These cooling fins fit motors with 222 mm ØD magnet ring and at least 18 mm clearance between spoke flanges such as MXUS, QS205, Leaf, Crystalyte, 9C. The black anodizing also improves the emission factor and ensures an attractive appearance.
The following steps must be observed during installation:
- Step 1: Thoroughly clean the outer surface of the ring magnet to remove dirt and oil before applying the thermal paste. Avoid petroleum-based cleaners such as WD40 or automotive degreasers, as they can impair the effectiveness of the thermal paste. Take care to keep the surface free of foreign matter and do not touch it with your cleaned fingers or other materials so as not to impair the thermal interface.
- Step 2: Test the fit of the hub link around the hub with the supplied fixing nuts and bolts until no more movement can be felt.
- Step 3: Apply a generous amount of thermal paste to the HubSink and press it firmly onto the hub – preferably with a slight twist to distribute the paste completely.
- Step 4: After a test drive, it is advisable to allow the engine to heat up. Then tighten the screws again to ensure optimum performance.
With the HubSink, you can optimize the heat management and performance of your wheel hub motor and benefit from a simple and effective solution for improving heat dissipation. However, it is important that the engine diameter matches – otherwise the HubSink ribs cannot be fitted.
