E-bike motor X1 PRO Gen4 upgrades in focus

The X1 PRO Gen 4 retrofit motor sets new standards in e-bike technology with its powerful motor, the innovative X12 controller and the improved torque sensor. Here you can find out more details about the individual improvements compared to the previous Gen3 version.

Motor

The motor of the X1 PRO Gen 4 impresses with a 10 mm longer motor stator and rotor length. This enables an increase in power and increases the kV value, which in turn increases the maximum speed of the motor. The extended surface area of the X12 controller requires less phase current for the same motor torque. This leads to improved efficiency and reduces the risk of the motor overheating. At the same time, this reduces the load on the controller by allowing it to operate in a more comfortable range.

X12 Controller

The X1 PRO Gen 4 introduces the X12 controller, which effectively doubles the capacity and can handle inputs of 84V and 120A, enabling an impressive peak power of 8.5kW. However, to ensure system longevity, the peak power of the X12 controller is limited to 5.5kW. The maximum phase current is 180 phase amperes.

Torque sensor

The torque sensor of the X1 PRO Gen 4 has been equipped with a new, serviceable and robust version. The proven stationary and rotating parts remain unchanged and offer continuity with the previous models.

Bash Guard

The 53T and 63T chainring options of the X1 PRO Gen 4 are fitted with a new, robust bash guard. This innovative solution for torque sensor mounting ensures that the bash guard reliably absorbs impacts even in critical conditions.

219H Chain tensioner

Thanks to valuable customer feedback, CYC has improved the durability and installation of the 219H chain tensioner on the X1 PRO Gen 4. The chain tensioner design now includes a side spring that is installed as the final step and tensioned with the chain cover, making the installation process much easier.
