This rectangular battery pack is housed in a very robust plastic casing, which not only offers good mechanical protection, but is also splash-proof. This battery must be protected from the weather (e.g. bag).

This housing offers some interesting features:

• A high-tech Smart BMS is used, which is designed for real 40A continuous current, the maximum current is programmed at 60A. With the Bluetooth BMS, various battery data can be displayed via the smartphone and an app, such as cell voltage, temperature, charge/discharge current, capacity (real SOC, measured Ah and remaining Ah), data log and error display (on LED panel). The BMS balances during charging and therefore does not require a full battery charge. With auto power-off function, as well as automatic switch-on on controller connection (avoids sparks as long as the battery is switched off). This new 2-way BMS costs us significantly more (requires more MOSFETs) than a 3-way BMS
• PPTC thermal fuses used on all signal wires. If a fault should occur on one of the small equalizing wires running around the battery pack, the fuse will simply switch off the connection. As soon as the fault is rectified, the function returns to normal.
• With the specially stamped nickel terminations, each cell in the pack has a fuse. In the event of mechanical stress, an internal short circuit in the battery (which the BMS cannot protect against), the cell connections are safely opened, preventing any of the cells or the cabling from overheating. CNC spot welding ensures consistent weld quality and welding position. Safe by design!
• Samsung 35E 18650 A-class cells and Panasonic GA cells from official suppliers

Technical information:

• You can find optional chargers here. The charger only switches on when a battery is connected
• The number of cycles will also be reduced if the battery is regularly used at too high discharge rates (the BMS has temperature protection if the battery gets too hot). Therefore, the battery should be matched to the rest of the kit to achieve the expected performance and long-term use. Recommended maximum discharge current depending on cell type:
  Samsung 35E: ~30A continuous, 35-40A Max
  Samsung 30Q: ~38A continuous, 55A Max
  Samsung 33G: ~23A continuous, 30A Max
• Maximum charging current 12A (BMS limited) and can be charged at both connections.

Realistic capacity of this 52V ebike battery pack:

The conservative indication of the cell capacity is approx. 2.95Ah (Samsung 30Q) and 3.4Ah (Samsung 35E + Panasonic GA). This results in

• Panasonic GA: 50.4V nominal, 17.0 Ah, ~857Wh (or 52V, 17.5Ah, 910 Wh with manufacturer’s specification)
• Samsung 35E: 50.4V nominal, 17.0 Ah, ~857Wh (or 52V, 17.5Ah, 910 Wh with manufacturer’s specification)
• Samsung 30Q: 50.4V nominal, 14.8 Ah, ~743Wh (or 52V, 15Ah, 780Wh with manufacturer’s specification)

Note: The figures refer to a new battery in warm weather and a discharge rate of ~0.5C. Cold temperatures or high discharge rates will result in reduced capacity. Capacity will decrease over time and usage. 52V batteries means 14 cells in series at 3.7V nominal (14 * 3.7V = 51.8V), but the nominal value should be calculated at 3.6V, which means 50.4V nominal.

• Weight: approx. 4.3 kg

Batteries must be protected against mechanical damage, overheating, short circuits, deep discharging (long standing times) and overcharging, otherwise there is a risk of fire. Always charge under observation and in a dry place. The battery is specified as splash-proof, but we recommend avoiding any water, especially high-pressure cleaners or rain at high speed.
