The "BBS Veteran" is ideal for those who do not need so much power and are happy about the lower weight (4,5 kg engine). The easy installation allows a quick conversion to an e-bike. The motor uses all your gears and thus operates at an efficient speed.This allows long mountain trails without overheating.
This motor is suitable for bottom bracket widths from 68 to 75 mm. We recommend to use this axle extension if you have a wider bottom bracket.
The motor axle has a diameter of 33.4 mm and is installed instead of the bottom bracket. A bicycle frame with BSA bearings (e.g. Shimano Hollowtech) has the appropriate diameter for the motor, with BB92 and BB30 bearings an individual adapter is required. Some of them we have here…
By choosing the motor the following items are included:
- fixing parts
- all the necessary cables and connectors
- speed sensor
- also with extra connector for Gearsensor and 6V light cable with approx. 500 mA. The DPC18 display (not included) has its own light switch, which supplies power to the connector and turns a connected light on. The controller has an additional connection for the Gearsensor, so that both brake connections on the handlebar can be used. If these plugs are not used, they should be sealed, that no water can cause electronic damage. The Gearsensor isn't included.
You can choose between different displays, chainrings, throttles and accessories.
You need a special tool for the axle, the second ring can be tighten with the bottom bracket bearing tool for Shimano, SRAM, …For the rest Allen tools are required.
We recommend the use of sensors - for example gearsensor or brake sensor.

If you want to reprogram the controller settings please use the USB programming cable.
This motor can be used with 36V 10S batteries. You can set also a low voltage cutoff in the programming.
compliant motor, without modern look
I opted for this Bafang 250W E-Bike Motor for legal reasons, as it complies with local regulations. The motor is proven and reliable, offering a smooth ride. However, it's less powerful compared to higher wattage options and the design feels dated without modern aesthetics. It's a decent choice for legal compliance, but those seeking more power and a modern look may need to consider other options.
Bin sehr zufrieden
Der Motor gehört zu den ältesten der Bafang BBS-Reihe, aber er läuft zuverlässig und geräuscharm. Mir war es wichtig, unbedingt STVO-konform unterwegs zu sein. Das ist mit diesem Motor garantiert der Fall. Im Web werden die Bafang BBS Motoren auch sehr gelobt, daher fiel mir die Entscheidung recht einfach. Habe es bisher auch nicht bereut.
