Update 04/2023:
This blog post below was written in February 2022. Since then, nothing changed with Bafang motors, but with CYC motors: X6 Controller ist used now instead of BAC controllers. In addition, the new CYC PHOTON motor has been released (01/2023). You can find the new comparison HERE.
-------------------------------------------
We have clearly presented the comparison of the Bafang BBS01, BBS02, BBSHD and CYC X1 Pro and Stealth Motors in the following table. Besides the power and technical aspects, we also compared the noise. This was measured with a smartphone app and should suffice as a comparison value. The "Bluetooth" point for the Bafang motors depends on the used display - the motor/controller itself is not Bluetooth-enabled, but the BAC855 controller of the CYC motors is.
Bafang and CYC have a different drive concept: Bafang motors use different internal gears to transmit the motor power to the chainring, while CYC uses a separate drive chain for power transmission.
