>> How does it work?

Skarper transfers its motor power through the brake disc. The only modification needed is replacing the rear brake disc with DiskDrive. Afterwards, the braking function remains fully operational and the new disc allows Skarper to drive the bike. This compact module integrates all essential ebike components, including motor and battery.

With the built-in DynamicClimb PAS Sensor, Skarper detects inclines and adjusts assistance automatically. The system continuously monitors road gradients and power requirements to provide the right level of support. The wireless sensor attaches easily to the crank arm and controls are located on the front of the device.

Great Feature - easily control the range yourself:

You can backpedal 3 times to send Skarper to Pause mode. In this mode, the drive system ist turned on but doesn´t provide pedal assistance, allowing you to enjoy riding your bike as normal and conserve your battery. When you require assistance again, simply back pedal 3 times and the drive system will wake up and return to the support mode you were in.

>> Does it fit my Bicycle?

To use the Skarper drive unit, it´s necessary that the bicycle is equipped with a brake disc. If your bicycle currently lacks one, no worries - Skarper has a solution for that too: a hub with the appropriate mount for the brake disc. This module can also be installed by one of our partner workshops (on request).

Currently, Skarper is compatible with 160 mm brake discs. For smaller discs, suitable brake adapters can be used. For 180 mm brake discs, it should be checked whether there is already an adapter on the brake caliper. If so, it can be easily removed. If no adapter is present for 180 mm brake discs, the use of the Skarper drive unit is currently not possible. However, the manufacturer plans to enable compatibility with 180 mm brake discs in the near future.

The Skarper DiskDrive System consists of just a few parts: Skarper Drive Unit, DiskDrive brake rotor, chainstay-attachment, DynamicClimb pedal sensor, lock adapter for brake disk, USB-C charger for the pedal sensor, as well as the charger for the drive unit.
