The sheet metal protects your engine against stone chipping or even damage by placing it on rocks or stones. In particular, the cable harness is well protected.
The plate has four fastening straps which are directly connected to the screwed connections on the motor side. The advantage here is that the sheet can be mounted in two different angular positions on the engine and thus can be adapted to the installation angle of the engine. So even if the engine must be slightly more down due to the frame so the sheet can still be mounted in the correct position.
What features should an engine guard have for an e-bike engine? We believe that it can deform in extreme cases, but it must not leave or break. So it has to last a long time but it does not have to stay smooth after being put on e.g. put on a rock. It would be nonsense to construct it so stable that it would not deform even with such a strong force. It would then either be very thick and thus very heavy or it would be very expensive due to expensive production technology (profiling by deep drawing, for example). Therefore, we think the ideal engine plate must be a simple, lasered and bent 1.5mm stainless steel sheet. This makes it easy, sufficiently stable and cheap.

Used this for around 6 months now, still not really a mark on it even though I bump up stone steps just about every day, this has kept motor scrape free, shit hot piece of kit essential if you wanna keep your Bbshd pristine.
I love this protection for my bbshd. I didnt find it anywhere else, which just shows how good faster bikes is

Hab das Teil im Einsatz. Die Montage ist sehr einfach. Hab es vor der Montage selbst in schwarz lackiert.
Schütz die Kabel des BBSHD bei aufsetzern. Ist stabil, aber nicht zu schwer (wobei das beim bbshd jetzt eh nicht so die rolle spielt das Gewicht.)
Auch schön ist das helle 'pling' wenn ein Steinchen gegen das Blech prallt, statt gegen den Motor.
Absolut empfehlenswert, zumindest wenn man vorhat mit dem Bike ins Gelände zu gehen. trägt nur wenig nach unten auf, schützt den Motor aber enorm.
